Training programs for health professions
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act provides grant opportunities to support the development, demonstration, and evaluation of training programs in specified health professions.
Two grant opportunities have already been announced to support training for nursing assistants, home health aides and personal and home care aides.
Arkansas Implementation
The Arkansas Department of Health did not apply for the grants, citing quick turnaround times for submitting the applications. The Arkansas Workforce Investment Board, which was eligible for the Personal and Home Care state training grant, also did not submit an application.
